As the director of marketing automation, you will lead the development, management, and optimization of robust data-driven marketing programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own the marketing automation process and ensure standards are being followed across brands
- Provide planning and direction for complex projects as needed
- Is a point of approval and review to ensure standards are being followed and steps are not being missed
- Estimate level of effort for marketing automation efforts
- Monitor and enact changes to preserve the financial health of omnichannel campaigns
- Assign marketing automation resources to projects and ensure high billability among the team
- Own communication streams with internal project teams and client IT departments as needed
- Have an active role in project meetings, providing insight and answers while being able to call out when there may be issues or questions
- Be an active participant in client calls as needed, providing insight, identifying potential issues, and answering questions on behalf of the marketing automation team
- Act as a point of escalation and support for other team members
- Mentor direct and indirect reports, providing guidance on technical career progression, providing feedback on quality of work, sustaining team morale
- Create and present annual performance reviews for direct reports
- Review and approve time sheets for direct reports
Job Requirements:
- 8 to 10+ years of professional marketing automation experience (SFMC, Marketo, or Eloqua)
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud certification required
- Marketing and advertising agency experience
- Experience managing and growing successful teams
- Strong understanding of email marketing best practices
- Solid technical skills and expertise with HTML and CSS optimized for email deployment
- General understanding of the digital marketing landscape
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
- High proficiency in MS Excel
- A team player with strong time management skills, the ability to motivate others to deliver excellence, and poise and focus under pressure
- Strong organizational and written/oral communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Experience with SMS programs a plus
- SQL experience ideal
